My adult son has introduced me to letterboxing. This is an easy straight path. No real life struggles. Like mom says, wear boots if it's muddy, a hat and gloves if it's cold. As i have taught as Mom, I have learned from my kids too. We have walked the path, learned a lot, overcame the difficulties.
Make your way to the Portland Riverfront Park on Brownstone Avenue in Portland, CT. Park in the lot down by the gate. You will see the pavilion and the covered stage. Walk straight down the path about a half mile. At the end of the trail you will come to a gravel road. On the left you will see a big rock that overlooks the river. Look underneath the rock.
Hike length: 1 mile
