Robert Lloyd "Bob" Foster was born on December 15, 1938 in Borger, TX, but grew up in Albuquerque where he became an amateur boxer. He also served with the Bernalillo Sheriff's Department, thus receiving his nickname "The Deputy Sheriff". After turning professional in 1961, he won the World Light-Heavyweight title from Dick Tiger in 1968 via fourth-round knockout, and went on to defend his crown fourteen times in total from 1968 to 1974. He was inducted into the International Boxing Hall of Fame in 1990 and died on November 21, 2015. He is buried in Fairview Memorial Park, where this box can be found.
Directions:
From I25 go east on Avenida Cesar Chavez SE for 1 mile then left on Yale Blvd to Fairview Memorial Park on the right. Go straight through main entrance about 100 yards and park by small chapel on right.
Clues:
Walk to cedar tree on right and find LB within its trunks 4' high under a rock and needles. I couldn't find his grave, so if you do please let me know directions so I can add to these clues.
Hike length: 0.1 miles
