Start at the stage with the giant “Potomac Overlook” sign. Read about solar electricity.
Head to main path. Turn right onto path toward the James I. Mayer Center.
Find “Birds of Prey” sign and take path to see the birds.
Return to main path and read about “Tree Growth Rings.”
Walk past “James I. Mayer Center for Environmental Education” sign on your right.
Stop at the pond and look at the tadpoles and frogs on the left. See vernal pools on right.
Take a left at the fork in the path (a v-shaped tree is on the left). Look for the “Native Plant Demonstration Garden” sign.
Herb garden sign will be on the left.
Find rock wall next to split rail fence with the sign “Make a Difference Plant native Plants.”
Find smallest rock on bottom left. Slowly shift rock to uncover your hidden treasure.
Sign the book and please seal the letterbox and place it back in the rock wall hidden from view.
Hike length: 0.5 miles
