My grandpa Bill was a sweet, smiley, happy man. He cared a lot about other people, he always wanted to help those in need and those he loved. He was so thoughtful, kind and gentle.
Grandpa Bill was very giving. He gave me love and attention, and would play whatever game I wanted to play. He let me braid his hair, put it in a bun or pigtails, and paint his face, too.
Grandpa Bill loved animals and chose not to eat meat for most of his life. He took me to the zoo or children’s museum whenever I wanted to go.
Grandpa Bill had a great sense of humor. He made funny wisecracks and always made silly comments on Social media. He had a way of always looking on the bright side.
My favorite memory of Grandpa was when we would play horsey and he would let me ride on his back.
I think I was Grandpa’s favorite person. He made me feel happy and loved.

To find Grandpa Bill’s favorite city, travel to Leadville, CO. From Leadville, drive toward Turquoise Lake. Go past timberline Lake Trail head 2 miles to
Shimmering point overlook, on the right side of the road (look for the brown binoculars sign)!
Walk to the path at the south end of the lot. Follow the trail until you get to the view of the lake. Take in the incredible view!
To your right, the trail heads down hill. You’ll see a large rock. From the big rock, it’s about 30 steps to grandpas lookout over turquoise lake. Say hi to Grandpa Bill for us, then turn around to see a large tree fall. At the base of the tree, under a suspicious pile of rocks, you’ll find what you came for!
**We would love to know the First Finder of this box!!! Won't you please record your find?!?**
Hike length: 0.5 miles
