This is planted in conjunction with the DEEP's Sky's the Limit Challenge, but is not a part of the DEEP Challenge. For more information about the DEEP's challenge go to: https://portal.ct.gov/DEEP/State-Parks/Skys-the-Limit
The map is handy here: https://portal.ct.gov/-/media/DEEP/stateparks/maps/BlackRockGPSpdf.pdf?la=en&hash=CF539E4DE6DC2FF13698E84C1F11544C
Park in the first lot after the ticket booth. Head toward the hiking trail sign and follow the path to keep the water on your left to the metal bridge (photo time!). Cross the wooden footbridge (second photo!) and head to the red trail. Take the red trail to where it meets the blue trail. Note: the red trail turns left onto the woods road/construction road at the top of the hill, but it is not well marked.
At the junction with Blue, go right on blue for 11 paces, and look left just after the two sister tree. At the bottom of a ledge is a tombstone looking rock, with a another rock a foot to the left. Behind that rock is the Sky box. You are very visible to everyone on the red and blue trails, so be stealthy.
Head back to the red/blue junction and take blue up the hill to get to the scenic vista for your third photo.

Hike length: 1-2 miles
