*** 3 Boxes on this trail, so can combine with other 2. Boxes were to be placed in other states, but Tropical Storm prevented that.
Difficulty: Easy
Distance to Letterbox: 1/4 mile RT or 1 mile total if get 3
Box(s) located in Lick Creek Park. Nice hiking area on fringe of College Station. This box is dedicated to Carl Lewis. Born in Alabama, he came to the University of Houston in Texas and excelled, leading to multiple Olympic Gold Medals.
Directions:
From Hwy 6, turn east on William D Fitch Parkway. Turn right on Rock Prairie road and go a few miles, then left into parking area for the park (near Pavilion).
To the Letterbox:
Walk to the left of the pavilion and find trail sign for "Yaupon Trail". Take that trail and go to post #13 on the left. Go 10 more steps to tree on right edge of trail. Now go off trail to the left on faint trail and rightish to large tree about 10 yards away. Box on front side base under sticks. You can go back, or continue to Jimmy Buffet box.
Hike length: 0.5 miles
