Terrain Difficulty: Moderate (moderate slope, 3 miles RT)
Status: alive
Corona Arch, also called Little Rainbow Bridge, is one of the largest arches in the Moab area. Composed of Navajo sandstone, the arch opening measures 140 feet across by 105 feet high. The name refers to an object suggesting a crown, and you can find this box near it.
Directions:
Drive NW on US 191 to a left (south) turn on UT 279/Potash Road (1.3 miles west of the Colorado River Bridge). Drive south for 10 miles to the signed Corona Arch Trailhead on the right (east) side of the highway opposite the Gold Bar Campground.
Clues:
Walk on trail at right side of parking lot up to RR tracks. Cross them & continue up slick rock, following painted marks, past cables and up a ladder to Corona Arch. Go through the arch 50 steps, then right & down short way to small juniper bush. LB is under far side base under a rock & needles. Please be discreet.
Hike length: 2-3 miles
