*** Part of my Beer Series ***
Terrain Difficulty: Moderate (moderate slope, 2.8 mi RT)
Status: alive
Wasatch Brewery was the very first brewery in Utah, and one of the first craft brewers in all of the U.S., brewing award-winning brews since 1986. In 1988, Greg Schirf proposed another bill to the Utah Legislature making brewpubs legal in Utah and opened the first brewpub at the top of historic Main Street in the resort town of Park City. Wasatch continues to misbehave, turning out naughty beer after naughty beer year after year, so come try a few after finding this box on the Bloods Lake Trail, a nice hike to a scenic lake.
Directions:
For the brewery, go to 250 Main Street. For the box, go south on US 224 for about 6 miles & continue on Guardsman Pass Rd for 0.6 mi to Bloods Lake Trail parking on right.
Clues:
Walk across the road by restrooms onto the trail to a jct. Continue straight on Bloods Lake Trail as it eventually climbs up to another jct. Continue straight a short way to another jct at Bloods Lake. Continue straight 55 steps along lake to bench on left. Go right off trail 15 steps up to a 3-trunk pine tree to right of a down tree. LB is at back base of pine under a rock & needles.
Hike length: 2-3 miles
