Start out in front of Shellbacks. Cross Ocean Drive heading west on Manhattan Beach Blvd and walk up to the elevated parking lot on your left. Walk west along the blue railing of the parking lot sidewalk until you reach the ship wheel. Look down at the inlay in the concrete and appreciate where you are right now. Take in the sight of the Manhattan Beach pier and listen to the sounds of the ocean breeze and waves. Now head down to the pier. Watch out for bikes on the bike path! Just after the bike path, look down at a plaque talking about the pier construction. Keep walking toward the pier and go down the stairwell just to the left of the rolling blue gate. Once you reach the sand, peek behind the stairwell you just walked down. When you find the box, be sure to read all about the history of the Manhattan Beach pier!
