Difficulty: Moderate - Steep for awhile, but worth it.
Distance to Letterbox: about 3 miles RT, but go further.
This box is located on Sentinal Pass trail, at the junction with the Eiffel lake trail (so can get if doing either destination). Either way, go a little further toward Sentinal Pass to enjoy Larch trees and great views of the Ten Peaks.
Directions:
You need to get to Moraine Lake. Not easy anymore, so either have to get to drive up at 6am to drive yourself, or set up bus transfer from Ski Area (easy, good option).
To the Letterbox:
Once in Parking area, go to foot of lake, then continue up right side of lake until you reach trail sign on right. May have bear restrictions for minimum group, so be aware. Go right up the trail toward Sentinal pass until you reach next trail junction for Eiffel lake. Go right at bench up the Sentinal Pass (Larch) trail for 10 steps. Go right off trail for 15 yards to big low rock. Box is on tree side of rock under a small rock.
Hike length: 3-5 miles
