This clue begins at the Wonderland Lake Playground just off Poplar Avenue in Boulder, CO. Start by finding the tire swing on the north side of the playground. This tire swing is the letterbox's namesake, a "wild ride!" The letterbox was named by our three kids who have played on this tire swing for years...it's one of their favorites! Feel free to push your kids (or your friends' or family's kids!) while you're here.
While standing next to the tire swing, look to your north along the foothills. You will see a large meadow just across the sidewalk to the north. Walk into the meadow. In the far northeast corner of the meadow, you'll see three large pine trees standing along a fence near Wonderland Lake. Walk towards these pine trees. The pine tree furthest to the north is your target!
When you arrive at the north tree, walk around the north side of the tree and you'll see an opening into the canopy beneath the tree. At the base of the tree is your stash beneath one of the tree's roots and a SPOR. Inside is a stamp chosen by our kids denoting another "wild ride"!
Happy hunting and please hide the box back where you found it and replace the rocks!
