Part of my Beer Series
Terrain Difficulty: Easy (slight slope, 1 mile RT)

Ecusta Brewing has been brewing beers since 2010 and is inspired by love of the craft and outdoor pursuits. By definition, Ecusta means, “Get Distant”, and no two words better represent their beer. So come try a few after finding this box on the nearby Daniel Ridge Falls Trail.

Directions:
For the brewery, go to 451 Ecusta Rd. For the box, go northwest on Hwy 276 for 5.3 miles and turn left at the sign for Pisgah Center for Wildlife Education and the State Fish Hatchery. Go 3.9 miles and park in the parking area on the right for Daniel Ridge Falls. The last half-mile is unpaved starting at the Cove Creek Group Campground and a little bumpy.

Clues:
From the small parking area, walk around the metal gate on the Daniel Ridge Loop Trail across an impressive bridge over the Davidson River to a Y jct. Go right past "Falls" sign to just before waterfall and bear left off trail on a path going up closer to the falls. At a huge downed tree with a view of the falls, go left a few steps to a double-trunk tree. LB is at back about waist high between a large rock and the tree under a rock & leaves.
