Part of my Beer Series
Terrain Difficulty: Easy (flat, 1.6 km RT)
Born out of genuine love for exceptional beers, artisan eats, and a lively community atmosphere, Beach Fire Brewing has become the social gathering place for an authentic craft beer experience in the heart of Campbell River. So come get social after finding this box at Elk Falls Park, one of the most popular provincial parks on Vancouver Island.
Directions:
For the brewery, go to 594 11 Ave. For the letterbox, go west on Campbell River Rd/Gold River Hwy (BC 28) for 4.3 km, right on Brewster Lake Rd then immediate right on Elk Falls Park Rd to parking for Elk Falls Provincial Park on right.
Clues:
Walk on gravel trail from kiosk between restrooms to jct with Millennium Trail map sign. Go left to another jct with map sign and go right toward the suspension bridge. Pass the view of the falls on left and stop at bench on right with fence behind it as trail curves left to bridge. Go right off trail past beginning of fence for 20 steps to a huge tree. LB is at back base under sticks & needles. Please be discreet and be sure to go across the suspension bridge for a great view of the falls.
