Troop 327 Lums Pond State Park Box - Into the Woods
Find the bottom of the western pair of parking lots in Area 2.
There will be a path there headed down hill. Don’t take it. Instead follow the lot curb clockwise. Wait! Is that a trail you see heading from the lot? Let’s go into the woods.
You’ll see a tree in a V straight in front of you. Headed the direction where the W would be If the V was in a line of alphabet letters.
Cross bridge 28. Stop and wonder what was here long ago that required a fence. Continue the path past the fence.
Find where Colby Dolbow became an eagle. Don’t sit because you are Girl Scouts and tough and don’t need a rest. Continue across bridge 27.
Proceeded to bridge 25 and cross over it. Continue along the path and you’ll see a curve with more than seven stumps on the right.
Continue along the path. Pass the broken tree on the left and continue along the path. This is a long section and you won’t see the next clue for many minutes.
Walk toward the next fence, you can see on your left.
Stand to where you can see only one fence post when the fence is on your immediate left. Take 20 or so steps to the big tree on the left. That has the purple stripe about the height of a Brownie - more or less! This stripe is faint. If you see a dark purple stripe on a tree to your right you have gone too far.
Turn around so your back is facing the stripe. Walk 10 steps off the path, stepping over the 3-foot log that is in your way.
Turn left and walk to and look behind the second big tree you see where you’ll find me hidden in a really good hiding place!
Take the box and stamp the booklet inside with your stamp to record you’ve been here. Take one of the trinkets. Make sure to stamp your card with the stamp contained in the letter box. PUT THE BOX BACK WHERE YOU FOUND IT. Reverse path to parking lot.
