Part of my Beer Series
Terrain Difficulty: Easy (flat, 1 mi RT)
Lago Vista Brewing is the hill country's newest must-try brewery. They serve fresh and innovative beers in a large brewhouse with plenty of seating, so come enjoy a pint after finding this box at a nearby refuge named after the Spanish word for balcony.
Directions:
For Lago Vista Brewing, go to 8001 Bronco Ln. For the letterbox, go north on RM 1431 then right on Warbler Vista to Sunset Deck parking on left.
Clues:
Walk to the Sunset Deck for outstanding views, then go south on a dirt trail a short way to a jct with the Ridgeline Trail. Go on the left branch of the trail to a Y jct with a faint trail on left. Bear right on main trail to a clearing with another trail coming from the road visible on left. Continue on main trail 55 steps to a large multi-trunk cedar tree on left with branches extending over you. LB is at back of this tree within branches under a rock & needles. Be on the lookout for the endangered golden-cheeked warbler, which can be found here and that I was lucky enough to see.
