Adopted by Junior Girl Scout Troop #63320 (Travel'n Turtle)
Placed by: Junior Girl Scout Troop #830
Time: 20-30 Minutes one way
Difficulty: Short & Easy except for one narrow part of the path.
Directions: From Route 2 East to Route 17 which is Exit 7. Go straight until you come to South Glastonbury Center. Cross over the Roaring Brook bridge which is just past the Water Street and Route 17 intersection. Take an immediate left into a restaurant parking lot and stay to the left. There you will see a sign for Cotton Hollow Preserve.
Head into the woods and cross the wooden bridge. Go either left (along the water) or right until you cross another bridge and the trail meets back up near a couple foundations. Keep walking forward until you reach a spot where the trail goes downhill left right across from the Cotton Mill Factory across the river. You may go down and check out the ruins a little closer, but make sure you return to this intersection for the box. Turn around 180 degrees from facing the factory at this junction. Look up the hill to a large tree about 10 steps off the path. Behind this tree is an outcropping of rocks 10 steps away at 1 o'clock. There you will find our letterbox up on the shelf created between the two rocks.
