Mission Santa Ines was established 1804 making it the 19th in the chain of 21 Spanish California Missions. It is in the Danish town of Solvang which is a tourist attraction in itself.
From the chapel walk along the front hallway until you see 2 bronze plaques on the wall, the top one is about Father Junipero Serra . Walk toward the parking lot down the sidewalk. Turn right where the sidewalk and the parking lot meet. Walk just a couple of steps along the edge of the parking lot so that you are in front of the pepper tree. The box is at the base of the tree on the left side of the tree hidden by bushes.
